Istex

Ull har spunnits i Mosfellsbær på Island ända sen slutet på 1800-talet, tidigare under namnet Álafoss of Iceland. 1991 startade Istex (Islands Textilindustri) sin verksamhet och tog över ullhanteringen. Sen dess har verksamheten utökats ordentligt. Idag köper organisationen in ull från hela Island som sen förvandlas till världskända garner som Álafosslopi, Léttlopi och Plötulopi.

Wool has been spun in Mosfellsbær on Iceland since the end of the 1800’s. Ístex (Island’s Textilindustri – Iceland’s Textile Industry) established its mill in 1991 and took over wool production. Since then, the factory has grown steadily and now offers some of the world’s most popular yarns. Today, the firm buys in wool from all over Iceland to process into world-famous yarns such as  ALAFOSSLOPI, Léttlopi, Einband, and Plötulopi.
