Only colour combinations that are currently in stock can be ordered. The other colour combinations are sold out and cannot be ordered because we have not yet received a confirmed delivery date.

MKAL 2026

This year we are knitting a soft sweater with a round yoke and a slightly A-line body. You choose the construction – the sweater can be knitted top-down or bottom-up. Both methods lead to the same design.

MKAL stands for Mystery Knit Along, meaning you don't get to see the whole pattern from the start. Instead, the pattern is released in parts during October, and the design gradually emerges as you knit.

Last year, over 1,000 knitters participated, and this year too, knitters from different parts of the world will gather around the same design.

How it works

The pattern is released in four parts. Each week you receive a new part – enough to continue knitting, but without revealing the entire design. In the fourth week, the complete pattern is released.

There is no time limit and no stress. You knit at your own pace even if the common MKAL period ends on October 31st.

The MKAL takes place online and participants get access to a dedicated Facebook group and a group on Ravelry. There you can follow each other's projects, color choices, and personal interpretations as the sweaters take shape.

Yarn Kit

The yarn kit contains all the yarn you need to knit the sweater in your chosen size and color combination.

The pattern is not included in the yarn kit. Registration and purchase of the pattern are done separately at Sisu Knitwear.

The yarn kit will be sent to you once the yarns are in stock. Due to the current delivery delay, shipments will take place at the end of September at the earliest.
