Pattern

The Åker baby hat is a classic helmet hat: a long zigzag-shaped piece sewn together at the back. The hat is crocheted in double crochet and half double crochet, where the loops of the half double crochets are pushed forward, creating a nice texture with rows or chains – somewhat like the straight furrows of crops, or plowed earth, in a field. A few finishing rounds of decorative slip stitches around the edge provide elasticity and a good fit. Matching cardigan and socks are available for the hat.
