This cowl also features the syrup pattern, but is named after a Norwegian costume tradition. The "bringeduk" (chest piece) traditionally belongs to the Norwegian bunad and can either be attached to the shirt or be a separate garment. It covers the chest and is often richly adorned with beautiful fabrics, beads, or decorative embroidery. It is perfect for a neck cowl, as it provides a warm, patterned knitted surface that covers the chest and is visible in the opening often found on modern jackets. When you wear a jacket, it actually looks as if you are wearing a smart, knitted jumper.
