A "skald" was a Norse poet and storyteller. They often worked for kings and chieftains, chanting (singing) stories of past deeds. The sweater is knitted in the round, bottom-up. First, the body and sleeves are knitted separately up to the armholes. Then all parts are placed on the same circular needle and the yoke is knitted in the round with colorwork and decreases. Finally, a short row shaping is worked at the back of the neck and the neckband.
