Vættir is a digital knitting pattern from Ístex for an Icelandic sweater with a decorative fringe collar. The pattern is knitted in Léttlopi and is suitable for those who want to knit a sweater with a unique expression inspired by Icelandic tradition.

The characteristic yoke is combined with a double-folded collar adorned with handmade fringes. The sweater is knitted in the round from the bottom up to the armholes before the body and sleeves are joined and the yoke is knitted according to the chart.

    GAUGE (10 × 10 cm)

    18 sts × 24 rows in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles.

    Check your gauge carefully. If you knit too tightly, switch to larger needles. If you knit too loosely, switch to smaller needles. If the gauge is incorrect, the garment will have the wrong measurements.
