The inspiration for the mittens originally came from the thumb pattern on a Selbu mitten I knitted, and the cookie-like shape became crucial to the design process. Just like the Sirapssnitt socks and hat, the pattern's shape is reminiscent of a Norwegian cookie! The eight-petal pattern is the main motif on these lovely mittens! This pattern is typical of how I work, where the same pattern idea can be varied in many different ways. The mittens are knitted from the cuff to the top in two colors of Järbo 2 ply wool. You can choose your favorite colors, or the suggestions here in the pattern. For the pattern to stand out properly, it is good to choose two colors that contrast with each other. The mittens have a comfortable fit and keep you warm even on cold winter days. The pattern looks advanced, but is very easy to knit as there are few stitches between color changes.
